I have the MP3 up at

I have a bit more to add to the introductory comments over the next few days regarding the additional information I have been able to track down regarding information on the date of origination of the word “preterist” thanks to the lead that was given to me by David Green in email. So far it certainly appears that my original information that it was around since the time of the reformation (I was intending to mean around the time of Alcazar in which I got jumbled and placed just before the Reformation when he was just after the Reformation) is incorrect - or at least incorrect as a theological term, and that it may have originated in 1843 as a theological term. The conclusions of myself and Roderick as the original meaning would remain the same, but accuracy, and NOT overstating are highly important as we also discussed, so this is a great motivation to finally get off my duff and do the more thorough research I had said in the interview I had not yet done. I had also been given a dictionary lead, but unfortunately the particular dictionary is not available online for free, so I will take a library trip to reference that particular dictionary and hopefully find some others that will be helpful.
I will post here when I add additional information to that interview page, and when I think I got somewhere in chasing this down, I will likely do a free-standing piece. The reference that I mentioned as “overstating” one’s case is still up a major hyperpreterist site as stating:
“The term “preterist” can be found in the Unabridged versions of Webster’s Dictionary. I’ve found the definition as far back as 1913. It says — “2. (Theol.) One who believes the prophecies of the Apocalypse to have been already fulfilled. Farrar.” Dictionaries are by definition authoritative compilations of word meanings, and the inclusion of a word is significant. The fact that the word “preterist” can be found as far back as 1913 shows conclusively that it has had the meaning we’ve been associating it with for at least 86 years!” - Ken Davies
Now, when I have been given some additional information, the first thing I did is very swiftly and promptly correct my statements. Will the hyperpreterists who have been promoting a historical revisionism and logically untenable position do the same?? My prior blog entry on this (two entries down) dealt with the issue of a “dictionary” and the lack of critical thinking when it comes to Farrar.
Making honest errors, having incorrect information, and even making fallacious leaps are part of the human condition. We will all do them. The question is what we do with them once given a more complete picture. Thank you David for getting me that additional research information so that I could swiftly correct my incorrect statement.
