Things that make you go hmmm….

A certain hyperpreterist who apparently thinks I am a “leader” of some movement (I wish somebody had told me about that - and do I get to wear a cool robe or something?) shamelessly mongered:
Individuals like Dee Dee Warren are using the names of Gary DeMar, Ken Gentry and Hank Hanegraaff as umbrellas to justify these continuous ad-hominem attacks. Perhaps those partial preterist leaders and wonderful theologians could attempt to control their flock and attempt to create a constructive atmosphere that would glorify God instead of tearing others down.
Now let’s overlook the hypocrisy of the link he referenced since he is oh so concerned about ad-hominen attacks, that right there ruins any and all credibility, but let’s just look at this comment:
Individuals like Dee Dee Warren are using the names of Gary DeMar, Ken Gentry and Hank Hanegraaff as umbrellas to justify these continuous ad-hominem attacks.
Really? First - problem is an outright falsehood. I never claimed support for my position that hyperpreterism is damnable heresy from Gary DeMar. Did this writer make this up out of whole cloth? I have said numerous times that Gary does not share my view, and that I think he is wrong on that point. I have told Gary that personally.
Second, remember the issue is that I call hyper-preterism heresy. That is the issue. Now with that in mind, are Ken Gentry and Hank Hanegraaff “wonderful theologians.”
Let’s see:
Hank said:
Robert: “Okay so would you then consider full preterism to be heretical?”
Hank: “Ya, I do, because I think what you are doing then is you are choosing something that leads to a division in the formation of a sect as 1 Corinthians 11:19 and Galatians 5:20 would point to. So its a teaching that contradicts the teachings of the Bible or a deliberate denial of truth that is revealed by God. So I think this is a very important issue and I think that there has to be, on the basis of the full council of God, a time that the problem of sin is fully and finally resolved. There has to be a time in which our Lord returns and when the eschaton is established the new heavens and the new earth where indwells righteousness, no more death, mourning, crying or pain, nothing impure will ever enter in and so forth. And of course the time in which we are physically resurrected, immortal, imperishable and incorruptible as 1 Corinthians 15 puts it.”
And Kenneth Gentry has a whole article arguing it is heretical and has said so publicly in many instances.
Are those positions wonderful?
